Where: MAJA Books → Inventory → Stock Adjustments → New AdjustmentWho: Anyone whose role may create stock adjustments

Steps

  1. Click Inventory in the left menu, then Stock Adjustments.
  2. Click New Adjustment (or Stock Adjustment at the top of the Inventory page).
  3. Set the Date the change happened.
  4. Keep Type on Quantity (FIFO).
  5. Under Item, scan the barcode or type the SKU and press Enter, or choose the item from the list. MAJA shows how much stock the item held on that date.
  6. If you have more than one location, choose At location, or leave "the whole company".
  7. Choose the Reason: Stock Written off, Damaged goods, Stocktaking results or Found stock.
  8. Enter one of these: - Quantity Change (+/−), for example -5 for five damaged units, or - New On Hand (counted) — the number you counted. MAJA works out the change.
  9. Add a Description and attach evidence if you have it.
  10. Click Save Adjustment.

What MAJA does for you

  • A decrease is taken out of stock at FIFO cost. Found stock is valued at the cost of the last unit on hand, which MAJA shows before you save.
  • Posts the journal, numbers the adjustment and lists it in Reports → Inventory → Inventory Adjustment Register.
  • A number typed in New On Hand (counted) is kept as a stock count. If a document dated earlier would later change that count, MAJA asks you first.

Good to know

  • You cannot write off more than the stock held on that date: Write-off exceeds the stock on hand on … — count again or adjust in two steps.
  • If the count already matches, MAJA says No adjustment needed.
  • To undo a mistaken found-stock adjustment, open it and edit or delete it. A new write-off would take the oldest stock instead, and MAJA warns you about this.
  • If an item is oversold and the goods were really bought or produced, record the bill or production order instead of a found-stock adjustment.
