Add a bank or cash account

Steps

1. Open MAJA Books and click Bank & Cash in the left menu.
2. Click Add Account. The window Add Bank / Cash Account opens.
3. Choose the Account Type: Bank Account, Cash, or Money in Transit — card / gateway payouts (for card machine or payment-gateway money that has not reached your bank yet).
4. Choose the Currency: AED, USD, EUR or GBP. For a foreign currency, enter Exchange Rate (AED per 1 …).
5. Enter the Account Name (for example "Main Bank (AED A/C)") and the Account Number.
6. Enter the Opening Balance.
7. Click Save Account.

What MAJA does for you

• The account appears in the Accounts table with its type, currency and ledger balance, and in the Received Into and Paid From lists on receipts, payments and expenses.
• The opening balance is posted to the ledger.
• The cards at the top of Bank & Cash show Cash in Hand, Bank Accounts Total, Money in Transit and Cheques in Hand.

See the account's transactions

1. Click the account's row in the Accounts table.
2. Choose the period and filter by party if needed.
3. Use CSV, PDF or Print to export the statement.

Good to know

• An account name is required.
• A foreign-currency account cannot be saved without its exchange rate; its balance is shown in AED with the foreign amount underneath.
• Use the edit and delete buttons at the end of the account's row to change or remove it.
• Recent Transactions at the bottom lists every receipt and payment that moved money, with an All parties filter.
• There is no separate "transfer between my own accounts" button on this screen; the Settle button only moves money out of a Money in Transit account.
