What MAJA does for you

  • Gives the item its code (your typed SKU is kept) and shows the message Item "…" added ✓.
  • If you leave the Sales Account or Purchase Account empty, MAJA fills in the right default account, so every future invoice or bill line has one.
  • The item is now available on invoices, bills, proformas and orders.
  • Photos you drop in Item Photos are uploaded after the item is saved.

Good to know

  • Sizes, colours, styles — Custom Variants. On the item form press Custom Variants, give the product its axes (Size: S, M, L · Colour: Red, Blue — up to three), press Make the grid, and every combination becomes a row with its own SKU, barcode and price (blank prices take the product's). The product itself is the family's name and defaults — it is never sold or stocked; each variant is an item of its own, so bills, invoices, counts, the till and every report work on it, and the Items list and the Inventory Summary group the family under the product (▸ opens it). A variant with stock cannot be removed from the grid; untick it to retire it.
  • Both prices are required. Without them you see Selling Price is required (> 0) or Cost Price is required (> 0). The cost price is only used to cost the item until its first bill or production run creates real stock layers.
  • An SKU must be unique across items, services and composite items: SKU "…" already exists.
  • A barcode can belong to one item only; MAJA checks this before saving.
  • Custom Variants is not available yet (the button says "Variants coming soon"). Use Single Item.
  • Editing an item never changes its stock quantity. Quantities change only through documents: bills, invoices, production orders and stock adjustments.
