Where: MAJA Books → Inventory → Items & Services → ImportWho: Anyone whose role may create inventory items

Steps

  1. Click Inventory, then Items & Services.
  2. Click Import.
  3. Click Download the template if you want a ready-made file. Put one item per row with a header row first.
  4. Under The file (.xlsx or .csv), choose your file.
  5. Under A SKU already in the books, choose skip the row (keep the item as it is) or update the item — names, prices, VAT, barcodes (never stock).
  6. Tick Selling prices in the file include VAT if your prices are shelf prices. MAJA takes the VAT out when it saves the price.
  7. Click Check the file and read the preview.
  8. Click Import.

What MAJA does for you

  • Reads the columns by their names, in any order: Name, Arabic name, SKU (blank = MAJA numbers it), Group (created if new), Unit, Type (goods / service), Selling price, Cost price, VAT (5, 0, exempt, out of scope), Barcode, Pack barcodes, Track stock (yes / no), Brand.
  • Checks the whole file first. If one row is wrong, nothing is written.

Good to know

  • Name, SKU, Selling price and Cost price are the key columns.
  • Opening stock is not imported. Bring stock in through bills or an opening stock adjustment.
