Add a customer with TRN and Arabic name
Quick answerIn MAJA Books go to Sales → Customers → New Customer, enter the display name (and Arabic name), choose the Tax Treatment and enter the 15-digit TRN for a VAT-registered customer, set the place of supply and the emirate on the Address tab, and click Save Customer.

- Click New Customer.
- Choose Customer Type: Business or Individual.

- Leave Customer Number * as shown, or type your own.
- On the Other Details tab, choose the Tax Treatment *: VAT Registered, Non VAT Registered, VAT Registered — Designated Zone, GCC VAT Registered, GCC Non VAT Registered or Non GCC.
- Enter TRN (VAT Reg. No.) — 15 digits — for a VAT-registered customer.
- Choose Place of Supply * and, if needed, Trade Licence, Currency, Opening Balance (AED), Credit Limit (AED) and Payment Terms (days).
- On the Address tab, fill Attention, P.O. Box, Address (Street), City, Emirate * and Country *.
- Optionally add internal Remarks on the Remarks tab.

What MAJA does for you
- The customer's TRN is copied onto every invoice you raise for them, and the Arabic name appears on the invoice under the English one.
- The emirate (or country) is proposed as the place of supply on new invoices, which sets the VAT rate and the emirate box on the VAT return.
- Opening the customer from the list shows Overview, Transactions and Statement tabs, with Edit and New Invoice buttons.
Good to know
- VAT Registered and VAT Registered — Designated Zone need a TRN of exactly 15 digits. MAJA says so if it is missing or short.
- A non-registered treatment with a TRN entered is refused — clear the TRN or change the treatment.
- Country is required; for a UAE customer the Emirate is required too, because it is the place of supply.
- The TRN box accepts digits only, so typing "TRN" in front of the number is not possible.
- When you edit a customer's details later, MAJA asks whether existing documents should be re-stamped or left as they were; protected (locked, filed or e-cleared) documents always stay as they are.
