Convert a proforma invoice to a tax invoice or sales order

Steps

1. Open MAJA Books and click Sales in the left menu, then Proforma.
2. Click the proforma to open it.
3. Click Convert to Invoice in the What's next? banner (it is also in the ··· menu).
4. Read the confirmation — This creates a real invoice and posts it to your ledger, P&L and reports — and click OK.

To make a sales order instead, click ··· and choose Convert to Sales Order, then confirm.

What MAJA does for you

• Convert to Invoice creates a tax invoice with the proforma's lines, VAT and totals, dated today, numbered from your invoice series and saved as Sent. It posts the journal and moves tracked stock, exactly like a saved invoice, then opens the new invoice.
• Convert to Sales Order creates an open sales order dated today with the same lines. A sales order posts nothing.
• Either way the proforma is marked Converted.

Good to know

• The converted invoice's due date is set to today. If the customer has payment terms, open the invoice, click Edit and change Due Date.
• An advance received against the proforma is not applied automatically — on the new invoice click Apply Credits and choose the advance.
• If the proforma is already marked converted, MAJA asks before creating another invoice from it, to avoid duplicates.
• A proforma with no lines cannot be converted.
