Read the Books Health check

Steps

1. Click Accountant in the left menu, then Books Health.
2. Wait while MAJA reads the ledger.
3. Read the headline: "The ledger is clean", "… worth a look", "… FAILED" or "… could not run", with the count of each.
4. Read each check card. It shows its number and title, what was Examined, the detail, and What to do when something needs attention.
5. After fixing something, click Run again.

What the checks cover

• H-1 The trial balance ties, and H-2 every entry balances on its own.
• H-3 Every account with a balance appears on the statement exactly once.
• H-4 Every posted document has a journal behind it.
• H-5 and H-12 A posted invoice's or bill's journal agrees with the document.
• H-6 Every account the engine needs is mapped, each to one account.
• H-7 One code, one account.
• H-8 Each subledger ties to its control account.
• H-9 The borrowings register agrees with the ledger.
• H-10 Every cash movement carries its bank tag.
• H-11 No journal points at a document that has gone.

Good to know

• Books Health only reads. It writes nothing to your books.
• A check that could not run says so; it is never shown as a pass.
• Stock layers and stock cards are checked by a different tool: Inventory → Health Check. That tool can offer a repair — contact MAJA support before using any repair action.
• You can also run Books Health from the assistant by typing "check my books".
