Create an item group

Quick answerIn MAJA Books go to Inventory → Item Groups → New Group, type the Group Name (for example Carton, Ink or Paper), and click Save Group; then choose the group in the Item Group field of each item.

Steps

  1. Click Inventory in the left menu, then Item Groups.
  2. Click New Group.
  3. Type the Group Name, for example Carton, Ink, Glue, Paper or Raw Material.
  4. Optionally add a Description.
  5. Click Save Group.
  6. To place an item in the group, open the item and choose the group in Item Group, then click Save Item.

What MAJA does for you

  • Shows Group "…" created ✓ and lists the group with its number of items.
  • The new group appears straight away in the Item Group list of the item form. Composite items can use groups too.

Good to know

  • A group needs a name: Group name is required.
  • When you import items, a group named in the file is created automatically if it does not exist.
