Who we are
MAJA is the business software at majabooks.com — MAJA Books (accounting), MAJA Payroll and MAJA POS — operated by MAJA Books LLC (in formation), United Arab Emirates. When you create an account, your company becomes the controller of the business data it enters (its invoices, its employees' details, its sales); MAJA processes that data on the company's behalf to run the software. For your own account details (your name, email, mobile), MAJA is the controller.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), the companies you belong to and your role in each, when and from where you signed in.
- Your company's data: everything the company enters — customers, suppliers, items, documents, journals, employees and their payroll, sales from the tills, settings. MAJA does not sell it, share it or use it to train anything.
- Technical data: the browser and device type, the time of each request, errors — to keep the service running and to show the live connection light.
- Support records: what you write to us, and a log of every action MAJA staff take on your account (a trial extended, a plan set, a look into the account with your consent) — which you can read yourself in Plan & billing.
Why we use it
To run the software you signed up for; to sign you in and keep your account safe (two-step sign-in, sign-out everywhere); to send you the messages the service needs (a code, a reset link, a trial reminder, an invoice); to answer support; to meet UAE law (VAT and payroll records are kept for the periods the law requires). We do not send marketing messages without your consent, and never to your employees.
Who sees it
- Your company's members — by the roles your company's admins give them.
- MAJA staff — only through the back office, which logs every action; a look into your account happens only with your recorded consent.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers — who store and transmit the data under contract and cannot use it for their own purposes. The data is currently hosted outside the UAE; moving it to a UAE region is planned, and this page will say when it has happened.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it, in which case we tell you where we are allowed to.
How long we keep it
While your company has an account. When a trial ends without a plan, or a plan ends, the account becomes read-only; the data is kept for 90 days, you are told before it is removed, and then it is deleted. VAT and payroll records that the law requires a business to keep are yours to export at any time before that — every report and document exports.
Your rights
You can see, correct and export your data at any time from inside the products. You can ask us to delete your account; we delete it after the 90-day read-only period or sooner if the law allows. Write to support@majabooks.com for anything this page does not answer.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes and we tell account owners inside the product.
