Take orders on a phone with the waiter pad

Before you start

• Tables are set up and each waiter is a cashier with a PIN.
• The phone needs the internet.

Steps

1. On the phone, open your MAJA address followed by /pos/waiter.
2. Sign in with the MAJA account the restaurant's tills use, then tap Sign in. This is done once per phone.
3. Under "Who are you?" tap your name, type your PIN and tap OK.
4. My tables shows the tables you opened; All tables shows the whole floor.
5. Tap a free table, set the guests and tap Open the order.
6. Tap + Add items, search or browse the menu and tap the dishes. Pick any add-ons.
7. Tap Review the order. Tap a line to set its seat (S1–S6), add a note for the kitchen ("no onions, well done"), or Remove it, then Done.
8. Tap Send to the kitchen.
9. When the guests ask for the bill, tap Bill. The till prints the bill and takes the payment.

What MAJA does for you

• A green "Ready to serve" bar names your tables with dishes ready, and the phone pings.
• Guest calls from the table QR menu ("calls the waiter" or "asks for the bill") show at the top; tap Answered.
• The waiter stays signed in on the phone for 12 hours.

Good to know

• If approval is on, the lines wait for the till: "waiting for the till's approval".
• On a sent line you can mark it Not available or Cancel it with a reason. A line already cooking cannot be cancelled from the phone: "a cancel now goes to waste and needs a supervisor at the till".
• Tap switch waiter at the bottom of the floor to hand the phone to someone else.
• The waiter pad does not take payment.
