Add a service charge, government fee or card tips

Before you start

• Setup needs the internet. The first save with a charge on creates the three charge items on the server.

Steps — set the charges

1. Open Setup as a manager and find Charges on the bill in the Store & receipt card.
2. Type the Service charge % and choose where it applies in on: off, table orders only or every sale.
3. For a government fee, type its name in Government fee — its name (for example Municipality fee), its %, and choose fee on.
4. Tick Tips on the card machine to be asked for a tip when a card pays.
5. Click Save store.

Steps — a tip on a card payment

1. At PAY choose Card.
2. Type the tip from the card slip in Tip for the staff · from the card slip (0 = none).
3. Take the card payment as usual.

Steps — take a charge off one sale

1. On the sale, tap the charge line.
2. Tap Take it off this sale. Only a supervisor or manager sees this button; it is logged.

What MAJA does for you

• Adds each charge as its own line on the receipt with its own account: the service charge is the house's income (with VAT, as on the food), the fee is collected for the authority, and a tip is held for the staff until the office pays it out.

Good to know

• A platform delivery order never gets charge lines on top; the platform's price is the whole price.
