Set up salary components (allowances)
Quick answerIn MAJA Payroll go to Company → Settings → Salary Components, click Add component, give it a name, choose Fixed (AED) or % of basic and a default value, and click Save components; each employee's actual allowances are then set on their contract.
Steps
- Under Company, click Settings.
- Click Salary Components to open it.
- Click Add component.
- Type the Component name (for example Car allowance).
- Choose the Type: Fixed (AED) or % of basic.
- Enter the Default value.
- Click Save components.
What MAJA does for you
- Every component appears as a box in the contract form, filled with its default value.
- The payroll run takes the allowances from the employee's active contract; an employee with no contract falls back to these defaults.
- Each allowance prints on the payslip under its own name.
Good to know
- Changes apply to new payrolls only; saved payslips keep their figures.
- You can also add a new allowance straight from a contract: type its name under Allowances, choose AED / month or % of basic, and click Add head.
- The trash icon removes a component from the list.
