Post payroll to MAJA Books
Quick answerIn MAJA Payroll go to Payroll → Payroll history, lock the month under Month lock, then pick it in the month filter and click Post month (or use Post to Accounting on one record); MAJA posts one journal per employee at month-end — salary expense against salaries payable, deductions, loan recovery and pension — and the net pay then waits in MAJA Books → Payroll → Salary Payables.
Steps
- Under Payroll, click Payroll history.
- Check the month's records, then in Month lock click Lock month on that month.
- Choose the month in the month filter.
- Click Post month.
- To post a single record instead, open its menu (⋮) and click Post to Accounting.
What MAJA does for you
- Each record becomes one journal dated the last day of its month:
- Dr 5000 Salaries & Wages — the gross pay
- Cr 2220 Payroll Deductions Payable — other deductions
- Cr 1310 Employee Advances & Loans — the loan recovery
- Dr 5030 Pension Contributions Expense — the employer's pension share, and Cr 2230 Pension Contributions Payable — employee and employer shares
- Cr 2200 Salaries Payable — the net pay
- If an account is missing from your chart, MAJA finds a matching one or creates it.
- Posting is safe to repeat: a record already posted is never counted twice.
- The loan balances fall at the same moment, and the accountant gets a message in the 🔔 bell.
- A book icon appears next to the payroll number; a PAID chip appears once MAJA Books pays it.
Good to know
- A month is locked before it posts. A locked month's records cannot be edited, deleted or added to; the owner, an admin or the accountant unlocks it with a reason, and every lock and unlock is kept on the record. Lock it again after the change.

- A record with wrong figures (gross 0, or net above gross) is refused.
- Posting does not book gratuity; the end-of-service provision is run in MAJA Books → Payroll → EOS Provision.
- To change a posted record, see Edit or delete a saved payroll record.
