Quick answerIn MAJA Payroll go to Employee → Public holidays, click Declare holiday, enter the holiday name, date and type and click Declare; for Ramadan click Add period, give a label and the from and to dates, and click Save — payroll then pays holiday work at the holiday rate and shortens Ramadan days.
Steps
- Under Employee, click Public holidays.
- Click Declare holiday.
- Enter the Holiday name (for example Eid Al Fitr) and the Date.
- Choose the Type: Public holiday, National holiday, Religious holiday or Bank holiday.
- Click Declare.
- For Ramadan, click Add period in the Ramadan periods card.
- Enter a label (for example Ramadan 2026), the From date and the To date.
- Click Save.
What MAJA does for you
- A day that is a declared holiday is not counted as an absence, and hours worked on it are holiday overtime: the day plus 50% (×1.5), or ×2.5 if you chose that in Settings.
- Attendance rows on a holiday are marked Public holiday.
- During a Ramadan period each day's standard hours are reduced by the Ramadan reduction in Settings → Attendance Rules (2 hours by default); overtime and short hours follow day by day.
Good to know
- Declare each holiday separately; for a three-day Eid, add three dates.
- The trash icon removes a holiday or a Ramadan period.
- Add a new Ramadan period every year.
